I am working as Associate Professor at the National Institute of Food Science & Technology, Faculty of Food, Nutrition & Home Sciences, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad since 2009. I did my Ph.D. in the domain of Food Technology from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (Pakistan) and Post Doctorate from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA. My research interest is on fortification of foods especially wheat, rice, processed foods (like kheer, noodles, VitaRice, puffed rice), composite flour technology, and food allergens. I am also working on value addition in agricultural commodities through processing, curtailment of postharvest losses by the use of edible coating, preparation of syrups, jams, jellies. I am teaching course related to the domain of food technology, food safety & quality management and human nutrition & dietetics. I am twice recipient of Research Productivity Award conferred by Government of Pakistan and HEC Fellowship for Post Doctorate. I am lifetime member of numerous Professional bodies like British Nutrition Society, Nutritionist Association of Pakistan, Pakistan Nutrition & Dietetics Society. I have produced 6 Ph.D. students and 75 M.Sc. students whereas 5 Ph.D. students are currently under-supervision. Additionally, I have published about 65 research articles and seven book chapters. I am serving as editor in journals like Internet Journal of Food Safety and Current Research in Nutrition and Food Science. Currently, I am also running two research projects sponsored by National funding agencies.
