PEDAGOGIES FOR DIFFERENCES: an ethnographic study on the perception of students from two schools of Brazilian Northeast about LGBTQIAPN+ groups

Inclusive education is critical for addressing inequities experienced by underprivileged populations. This research studies the discrimination and violence experienced by LGBTQIAPN+ students in Brazilian public schools and proposes pedagogies that promote diversity and educational fairness. The project, which will be carried out in two high schools in the Northeast (Feira de Santana, BA, and São Luis, MA), studies the effects of social exclusion and violence on the education of these young people. The goal is to find pedagogical practices that limit school dropout and failure. The key issue is the systemic exclusion of LGBTQIAPN+ youth from school, which jeopardizes their academic performance and long-term success. The study investigates how these young people experience exclusion and violence, as well as how these views might guide transformational instructional methods. The hypothesis is that inclusive practices can mitigate these impacts and foster respect for differences.
