Marine Science
Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji
My name is Evelyn Yesania Tarihoran, and I am a seventh-semester student majoring in Marine Science at Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji. Currently, I am conducting my field practice, focusing on the identification of gastropods as part of my research topic. In addition to my academic activities, I am actively involved in several campus organizations, including UKM KMI Coral, which focuses on marine conservation, and the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries, where I contribute to student development and faculty programs. Through both my studies and organizational experiences, I continue to grow my knowledge, skills, and passion for marine science and environmental sustainability.
As a seventh semester Marine Science student, I have studied various subjects such as oceanography, marine biology, chemistry, geology, and ecology, along with specialized courses like coastal management, marine pollution, and remote sensing. Through lectures, laboratory work, and field activities, I have gained skills in collecting and analyzing marine data, identifying marine organisms, assessing ecosystem health, and using tools such as GPS and GIS. These experiences have helped me develop strong analytical, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities to support sustainable marine ecosystem management.
