Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji
My name is Nova Ramasaputri, a Marine Science student currently in my 7th semester. I am passionate about the ocean and its ecosystems, and I have gained knowledge in areas such as oceanography, marine biology, and coastal conservation throughout my studies. At the moment, I am participating in a Field Practice program, where I am applying my academic knowledge in real-world marine environments. In addition to my studies, I am an active member of the student organization UKM KMI CORAL, where I engage in various environmental and marine-related activities. These experiences have helped me grow both academically and personally, while strengthening my commitment to marine conservation and sustainable ocean management.
As a 7th-semester Marine Science student, I have studied various subjects including physical, chemical, and biological oceanography, marine biology, ecology, fisheries science, aquaculture, and marine conservation. Through these courses, I have gained practical skills in fieldwork, species identification, water sampling, data analysis, and the use of tools such as GIS and remote sensing. I have also developed strong scientific writing, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities, which prepare me to contribute to the sustainable management and conservation of marine environments.
Aquatic Science
A mangrove monitoring activity is scheduled to take place on October 19, 2025. This event aims to assess the current condition of the mangrove ecosystem, including tree density, species diversity, and overall health of the area. Participants will collect data through field observations, measure environmental parameters, and document any signs of degradation or human impact. This activity is crucial in supporting conservation efforts, raising awareness about the importance of mangroves, and ensuring sustainable management of coastal ecosystems.
