FUTURE PROJECTS

Original Institutional Economics

Based on the intellectual work of Thorstein Veblen, the aim is to systematize the ontological assumptions of Veblen's theory and, in particular, its central component, which I call Critical Evolutionary Realism. The complex relationship between the individual and the structure, the role, possibilities, conditions and interrelationship between these constituent elements of socioeconomic reality, allow us to understand both structural and behavioral changes in terms of cumulative processes and projects of social transformation through policies that promote development and, in particular, the overcoming of social backwardness. Thus, the work focuses its efforts, initially, on a philosophical approach to understanding reality, addressing the evolution of philosophy as an area of knowledge, the role of ontology as a critical foundation of what exists in the world, as well as the interconnection of philosophy and economics as complementary domains.
