Biography
Amar Mithapalli is an Assistant Professor and Course Coordinator at Avantika University, Ujjain (MP), with over 22 years of combined experience in design education, industry practice, and research. He holds a Master’s degree in Fashion Design and has extensive expertise in pattern making, draping, garment construction, surface design, material exploration, and design development. His research focuses on Indian craft traditions, sustainability, community-based design interventions, craft-led tourism, and the socio-cultural dynamics of artisan communities. He has led significant field-based projects, including the Pranpur village transformation initiative in Chanderi, and has published research papers and book chapters on craft preservation, cultural transitions, and sustainable design practices.
