Biography

Andreea Iacob is a theatre director with over 30 performances, art installations and films films directed and artistic events organized in theatres and alternative spaces. She is a university lecturer at the Faculty of Theatre and Film, Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj, Romania, where she teaches theatre directing at the MA program, and is the founder and president of SHIFT – Transilvania Art Grup Association. She has led theatre workshops and directed performances with inmates of Gherla Penitentiary. She had research scholarships, creative residencies and participated in international projects in Pécs, Paris, Berlin, Zurich, Trieste, Marseille, Scarborough and her domains of interest are interdisciplinarity, participatory theatre, the usage of technologies in theatre, installation art, social and community art. She holds a PhD in theatre since 2017, with a thesis later published under the title “From Technological to Immersive.
