Asil Yaman is Assistant Professor at Izmir University of Economics. Since 2021, he has been the founder and director of the Phoenix Archaeological Project (PAP).

Biography

Asil Yaman is Assistant Professor at Izmir University of Economics. He also holds ongoing academic affiliations at Villanova University, and serving as a Consulting Scholar in the Mediterranean Section of the Penn Museum (UPenn) An active member of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), Yaman has conducted archaeological fieldwork in the eastern Mediterranean since 2005 and has contributed to numerous international research projects. His scholarship focuses on the material culture of Late Antiquity, with particular emphasis on pottery studies, food culture, rural production systems, and trade networks linking Anatolia and the eastern Mediterranean. His current research centers on the archaeology of the Carian Chersonese and the Rhodian Peraia. Since 2021, he has been the founder and director of the Phoenix Archaeological Project (PAP).
