Biography

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP – São José do Rio Preto), as well as a Master’s and Ph.D. in Biological Sciences (Zoology) from UNESP – Rio Claro. Her research focuses on the taxonomy and morphology of Echinodermata, with an emphasis on Ophiuroidea. Between 2008 and 2011, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Museum of Zoology of the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), where she was also a FAPESP-funded Young Investigator. She currently serves as a researcher, curator of invertebrates, and head of the Museum of Biological Diversity (MDBio) at the Institute of Biology, UNICAMP. She is a faculty member in the Graduate Program in Animal Biology at the same institution. Her academic background and research experience lie in Zoology and General Biology, with particular expertise in the taxonomy of extant taxa, general zoology, and the systematics of Echinodermata.
