Biography

Dr. Deborah Arimie Adah is a veterinarian, aquatic animal health researcher, and academic affiliated with the Department of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. Her research focuses on aquaculture health management, antimicrobial use, and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in fish farming systems, with particular emphasis on One Health–oriented interventions in low- and middle-income settings. Dr. Adah’s broader scholarly interests include Fish disease diagnosis, AMR, fish parasitology, water quality management, and disease prevention. She has worked on bacterial, parasitic, and environmental diseases of fish, particularly in Clarias gariepinus, and is actively involved in developing veterinary educational materials and training programs for students and practitioners. She is committed to capacity building, policy-relevant research, and interdisciplinary collaboration aimed at strengthening aquatic veterinary education and mitigating AMR
