Biography

An accomplished professional with over 27 years of experience in nursing education, leadership, and culturally responsive care. Impactful research focuses on women’s health and the needs of refugee and immigrant populations through transcultural nursing methodologies. A distinguished graduate of the University of Jordan, earned her MSc from SUNY Buffalo and her PhD from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Led successful international exchange programs, including the Swedish SIDA and Linnaeus-Palme initiatives, and has contributed to nursing education in 18 countries. Played a pivotal role in developing Qatar University’s first nursing curriculum and is currently establishing the nursing program at Middle East University in Amman. Recognized as a Fulbright Scholar and one of Sigma’s top 100 nurses in Europe, was inducted as a transcultural scholar in 2014. Associate Editor for the Journal of Transcultural Nursing and Sigma’s Research and Scholarship Advisory Council.
