Xiao Hu

Biography

Hu Xiao is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, City University of Macau. She holds a PhD in Education and a Master of Arts (TESOL) with distinction from The University of Hong Kong (HKU). Her academic journey includes roles as a Post-doctoral fellow at HKU, a Senior Research Assistant at HKU and The Education University of Hong Kong, and a Visiting Scholar at the University of the Basque Country. Dr. Hu’s research focuses on L2 motivation, individual differences, and classroom interaction, with publications in high-impact journals such as System, TESOL Quarterly, and Language Teaching Research. As an educator, she has taught courses like English Reading, Academic Writing, and Second Language Acquisition, bridging theory and practice in language education.
