Research Assistant, Department of Biochemistry · Kwara State University
Research Interests
Genome Sequencing Drug Target Discovery and Therapeutics
Biography
Emmanuel is a dedicated Biochemist and Molecular Biologist with a passion for discovery and cross-cultural engagement, excelling in dynamic, multidisciplinary team environment I am curious to understand the roles of proteins in pathophysiology. My previous research have given me the basic information that targeted protein (membrane receptors, enzymes, ion channels and transporter proteins) are innovative methods of drug discovery. During my undergraduate years I conducted a research titled Effect of phenolic and alkaloid extract of Senna occidentalis leaf on the oxidative status of the heart in high fat-diet streptozotocin-induced type 2 diabetic Wistar rats. This experience made me understand that biomarkers, protein folding and interactions play significant roles in mechanisms leading to healthy and diseased states. I want to conduct a translational research where I can use my findings to pave way for innovate therapies to bring hope to countless lives suffering from cancer
