Biography

Daisy Barman has completed her PhD from the Deapartment of Folklore Research, Gauhati University. Her dissertation explores the convergence of folklore and literature in the context of Indian English fiction. She explores the Bakhtinian theories, Postcolonial theories, Posthumanism, Anthropocene and other associated developments to study meaning-making in literay texts. She has completed her bachelors from Cotton College, Guwahati with a major in English literature. Her postgraduation was completed from the same institution. As part of her doctoral programme she has won the Erasmus Plus and Dora Plus scholarships to study as a visiting scholar at the University of Tartu, Estonia. She is a passionate literary translator and her translations have been published in collections by HarperCollins and Sahitya Akademi. She believes in the power of storytelling and publishes her personal essays every now and then.
