Biography
Dr. Gaurav Gupta holds a B.Tech from IIT Ropar and an M.Tech and PhD from IIT Kanpur in Management Sciences. His doctoral research focuses on electricity markets, energy economics, and market-based contract design, including PPAs, take-or-pay contracts, and revenue-sharing mechanisms. He is currently a FARE Fellow at IIT Kanpur (postdoctoral-equivalent). His broader interests span power sector regulation, climate and sustainable finance, green hydrogen, and regulatory economics. Dr. Gupta combines rigorous economic modelling with policy relevance and has teaching interests in energy economics, renewable energy regulation, climate change, and game theory.
