Biography

Mostafa obtained his PhD in personalized medicine and nutrimetabolomics at Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences, University of Barcelona (UB), Spain in the programme: Nutrition and Food Sciences, with a competitive pre-doctoral scholarship (Ajuts De Personal Investigador Predoctoral En Formació - APIF). From May 2023 until Nov 2024, Mostafa worked as a postdoc researcher at NuMeH research group at Institute of Health Research Pere Virgili (IISPV) / University Rovira i Virgili (URV), and from Sep 2023 until August 2025 as an Assistant Professor at URV (partial time). Currently, Mostafa has been awarded the Spanish government–funded Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral fellowship for a two-year period starting in January 2026 at NuMeH research group at IISPV / URV.
