Biography
Dr. Alafia, Azeezat Oyindamola is Lecturer in the Department of Zoology and Environmental Biology. She obtained her PhD degree in Applied Entomology from the University of Lagos, Akoka. Alafia's research interest includes on insects of forensics, ecological, agricultural and medical importance, with particular interest in the field of environmental protection, on which she has been working for more than fifteen years, with expertise in insects of the orders Diptera and Odonata. She is one of the foremost entomologist in the area of forensics in Nigeria. Her interest in insects lies in the fact that they represent the largest percentage of world known species, hence a very good candidate for such study. Protecting the environment is also an important component of the United Nations sustainable development goals
