Numerical and experimental analysis of geosynthetic-reinforced soil walls, soil-structure interaction, and dynamic response of retaining structures under cyclic loading.
Biography
Kaio Morete Santos is a civil engineer and master’s degree candidate in Civil Engineering at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), Brazil. He works professionally in the field of geotechnical engineering, with experience in the design and analysis of reinforced soil structures, slope stability, and drainage systems for mining and infrastructure projects. His academic research focuses on the numerical modeling of geosynthetic-reinforced soil walls and soil–structure interaction under static and dynamic loading. He has extensive experience with finite element analysis (PLAXIS 2D/3D) and computational geotechnics.
Education
B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), 2016–2022. M.Sc. Candidate in Civil Engineering, Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), since 2025. Research developed in the field of Geotechnical Engineering, with emphasis on the numerical and experimental behavior of geosynthetic-reinforced soil walls under static and dynamic loading conditions.
