Biography

Laurence Dierickx is a researcher and digital & data journalism teacher specializing in AI-driven journalism, fact-checking, and ethics. She holds a master's degree in journalism and information technology. Laurence is also a Scientific Collaborator at ReSIC (Université Libre de Bruxelles, ULB), a member of LaPIJ (Laboratoire des Pratiques et des Identités Journalistiques), and teaches data journalism at ULB. Additionally, she intermittently researches at Bergen University (AI/Fact-Checking/Information Disorder - NORDIS) as a post-doc researcher and is a research fellow for DDC x TrygFonden/University of Southern Denmark (generative AI and fact-checking). Before moving to academia, she was a professional (data/computational) journalist for 15 years.
