Biography
Mikayil Mubariz oglu Mustafayev was born on December 31, 1973 in the city of Baku. Since 2003 I have been working as a senior researcher at the Institute, since 2012 as a leading researcher. At various times, participated in archaeological expeditions organized to the regions of Azerbaijan, and was an active participant in the expeditions. In 2002-2005, I was a member of the BTC-SCP archaeological expedition, which carried out archaeological excavations on the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil and gas pipelines. In 2006-2007, was an active participant in archaeological research conducted in the Guba region. In 2008-2011 I was the leader of expeditions in the Imishli region, in 2013 in the Zagatala-Balaken region. Since 2017, I have been leading the Imishli archaeological expedition. Since December 2021, I have been working as the head of the sector of the “Monuments of Archeology” collection of this institute, I have published a monograph on this topic.
Education
In 1980-1991, I studied at secondary school No. 52, located in the Yasamal district of Baku. In 1992 - 1997 studied at the Faculty of History of the Baku State University, and in 1997 I graduated from it with a degree in history. In 1997-2000, I entered the graduate school of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS. I defended the thesis on the topic "Medieval monuments of the lower reaches of the Araz River: IX-XVII centuries." and in 2003 I received a Ph.D. in history, in 2015 - a leading researcher, in 2018 - an associate professor.
