Biography
Muetaz Mohammed is a lecturer in the Department of Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering at Omar Al-Mukhtar University, Libya. Born in El-Beida in April 1995, his research focuses on renewable energy systems, including hydrogen recovery, biogas production, and integrated heat, hydrogen, and power solutions. He has authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed publications in journals such as the Journal of Power Sources, Battery Energy, Advances in Biological Chemistry, the Journal of Sustainable Bioenergy Systems, and Solar Energy and Sustainable Development. He has presented his work at international conferences in Libya, Tunisia, and Egypt, and has supervised various student projects related to biogas enhancement through anaerobic digestion. In 2022, he received the Libyan Innovation Prize for Best Research in Renewable Energy. He has also participated in CITE-MUN 2025 as the delegate of Spain in the WHO Committee, contributing to a resolution on regulating chemical leaching
Education
Muetaz Mohammed earned both his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (2017) and his M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (2020) from Omar Al-Mukhtar University, Libya. He also completed certified training in safety orientation and laboratory safety at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (Saudi Arabia), further strengthening his academic and professional development.
