Biography
Dr. Melgar-Dominguez received his B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH) in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, in 2011. He subsequently earned his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the São Paulo State University (UNESP) in Ilha Solteira, Brazil, in 2015 and 2018, respectively. In 2018, he held the position of visiting researcher at Aalto University in Finland. From 2019 to 2021, Dr. Melgar-Dominguez served as a postdoctoral researcher at the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP). Presently, he serves as the chief of the Generation Expansion Planning Department at Electric System Operator (CND) in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Concurrently, Dr. Melgar-Dominguez is a researcher affiliated with the Department of Electrical Engineering at UNAH in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. His main's research endeavors encompass power system optimization, AI applied to power systems, among others.
