Biography
This is Govindraj Chavan, I am dedicated researcher specializing in Evolutionary Biology and Molecular Ecology. I have earned a Master of Science in Biotechnology from the University of Ulster, UK, following a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from NMAMIT, Karnataka, India. My professional journey commenced with roles as a Research Assistant at IMAR/DOP-University of the Azores, Portugal. Over the years, I have contributed significantly to diverse research projects, investigating physiological and genetic adaptations in intertidal organisms along environmental gradients. My expertise spans various molecular biology techniques, including DNA and RNA extraction, gel electrophoresis, PCR, and library preparations for NGS (RNA-seq and RAD-seq). My proficiency extends to bioinformatics tools, Linux systems, and setting up servers for data analysis. Notably, I have managed marine sample reference collections and lab operations, ensuring equipment functionality and data accuracy.
