Biography
Professor Shiyan Hu received his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2008. He is a Global STEM Professor in Department of Data and Systems Engineering at the University of Hong Kong, where he serves as Director for JC STEM Lab of Smart Cyber-Physical Industrial Systems. His research interests are in the area of Cyber-Physical Systems, Robotics, and Data Analytics, where he has published 180+ papers in journals and conferences, including about 100 in IEEE Transactions. His publications have received distinctions such as the 2018 IEEE Systems Journal Best Paper Award, the 2017 Keynote Paper in IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design, the Front Cover Paper in IEEE Transactions on Nanobioscience in March 2014, multiple Thomson Reuters ESI Highly Cited Papers/Hot Papers, etc. Prof. Hu serves/served as an Associate Editor for IEEE TII, IEEE TCAD, IEEE TCAS II, ACM TODAES, and ACM TCPS
