Human Rights, Childhood Trauma, and Violence Against Girls and Women.

Biography

A Black woman from Brazil's Northeast region and a human rights activist. A professor at UFBA and a researcher currently engaged in postdoctoral work at Yale University and USP, she holds a multidisciplinary background spanning Nursing, Law, and Psychology. Her professional journey is dedicated to the care of vulnerable populations, particularly women, children, and individuals experiencing mental distress related to the use of alcohol and other drugs. An expert in trauma and violence, she travels the world seeking knowledge that can transform personal narratives, driven by a belief in the collective construction of pathways guided by compassion, autonomy, and the guarantee of human rights.
