Biography
Professor Yang Xu's research focuses on AI for Design and Advanced Manufacturing. His current projects include advanced additive manufacturing (AM) processes, intelligent manufacturing systems (digital twins), and AI-driven design methods for AM-enabled applications.
Education
Professor Yang Xu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Data and Systems Engineering at The University of Hong Kong. He obtained his Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering and his M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California (USC), as well as his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Automation from Beihang University. Prior to joining HKU, Professor Xu worked as a postdoctoral research associate at UC Berkeley.
