Biography

Dr. Umesha Naik is currently working as a Professor in the Department of Library and Information Science, Mangalore University, Mangalagangothri, Mangalore, Karnataka, India. More than 8 years of Technical and HRD experience at INFLIBNET Centre An IUC of UGC, Ahmedabad from 1994 to 2003. More than 29 years of Technical / Professional / Teaching and Research Experience in the field of Library and Information Science. Obtained B.L.I.Sc. degree from Mangalore University, M.L.I.Sc. from IGNOU, CIC from IGNOU, and Ph.D. from Mangalore University. Areas of specialization are Information and Communication Technology, Networking, Internet, Web Technologies, Digital and Electronic Libraries, etc. Published 100+ Articles/Papers in national and international journals, conferences proceedings, and edited books. Participated and presented papers in international and national conferences, served as a resource person in more than 10, and participated in more than 25 workshops, seminars.
