Biography
In the academic field, I´m professor and associate researcher in the Postgraduate Program in Interdisciplinary Studies on Women, Gender and Feminism (PPGNEIM/UFBA). Internationally, associate researcher at the Institute of Sociology of the Faculty of Arts, University of Porto (UPORTO, Portugal - http://isociologia.up.pt/pt-pt/investigador/vanessa-ribeiro-simon-cavalcanti), the Centre for Global Studies of the Open University, and the Centre for Research in Adult Education and Community Intervention (CEAD, University of Algarve). I´m associate member of the Historical and Geographical Institute of Bahia (since 2000) and the Institute for Social Development through Music (IDSM/NEOJIBA).
Education
Historian and university professor. PhD in Humanities from the University of León, Spain. Master's degree in Social History and History of Education from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP). Post-doctoral studies in Human Rights and Contemporary History at the University of Salamanca, Spain (CAPES and CNPq) and post-doctoral researcher at the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra.
