He received his B.Eng. in Electrical & Electronics Engg. from Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, India. M.Eng. in Power Systems Engg. from the Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore, India. He had completed his Ph.D. in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Anna Univ, Chennai, India.
