M. Subash is an accomplished Assistant Professor of English at Thiravium College of Arts & Science for Women, Tamil Nadu, with over eight years of teaching experience in English Language and Literature. He is also a Visiting Professor of English at the Directorate of Distance Education, Madurai Kamaraj University, and serves as an External Examiner for Alagappa University, Karaikudi.
He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in English at Madurai Kamaraj University, focusing on English Language Teaching (ELT). His doctoral research, titled “Enhancing Speaking Skill for the Tertiary Level Students Using Edutainment as a Tool,” explores innovative pedagogical approaches to improve communicative competence among undergraduate learners. His academic interests span ELT, communication skills, cultural studies, subaltern literature, digital pedagogy, feminism, ecocriticism, and contemporary Indian writing in English.

This proposed study aims to design and implement edutainment-based pedagogical models to enhance speaking and communicative competence among tertiary-level ESL learners. By integrating entertainment-oriented learning activities with language instruction, the project seeks to improve learner engagement, confidence, and oral proficiency through empirical classroom-based analysis.
This project explores the role of AI-powered tools and mobile applications in improving speaking skills in ESL classrooms. It focuses on learner interaction, personalized feedback, and performance-based assessment to evaluate the effectiveness of digital technologies in enhancing communicative competence at the tertiary level.
This research investigates the impact of gamification and experiential learning strategies on speaking skill development among undergraduate learners. Using task-based and activity-oriented methodologies, the study aims to assess how interactive learning environments contribute to increased motivation, participation, and language fluency.
