Role of Social Work in the Improvement of Health Behaviour Among Forest Edge Communities in Indonesia Muria Herlina, Tria Astika Endah Permatasari, Adi Fahrudin Social Work in Asia Education Practice and Service, 2026 This chapter undertakes an exploration of the challenges encountered in the intersection of social work and health behavior within forest-edge communities in Indonesia. The prosperity of an individual is often perceived as contingent upon their physical and mental well-being. Correspondingly, healthy behavior significantly influences an individual’s overall health, both physically and mentally. Utilizing a literature study approach, drawing upon references and prior research, this examination sheds light on the interconnectedness of behavioral health science and social work. The findings of this study illuminate a symbiotic relationship between behavioral health science and social work. Particularly in the realm of health services, social workers play a crucial role in mitigating the social ramifications stemming from an individual’s health behavior. This research contributes to the broader understanding of the interconnected dynamics between health behavior and social work, emphasizing the imperative role of social workers in addressing social impacts stemming from health-related behaviors.

Mental health of adolescents and the support of psychosocial resources during and after the COVID-19 pandemic Lam Le Thi, Nga Le Thi Thuy, Adi Fahrudin, Binh Nguyen Thanh, Dung My Le Environment and Social Psychology, 2026 This study investigates the mental health of adolescents in Da Nang City, Vietnam, during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing on the protective effects of psychosocial resources. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 1,262 students aged 12-17 using the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ-25), the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), and a supplementary emotion questionnaire. Results revealed substantial improvements in emotional well-being as society transitioned to the “new normal”. Negative emotions such as fear, loneliness, and anxiety significantly declined, while positive affect increased. Regression analyses indicated that family and peer support, along with adolescents’ confidence in social competence, played crucial roles in reducing psychological distress and promoting recovery. The findings underscore the family’s central role in emotional resilience and highlight the importance of strengthening psychosocial support systems for adolescents in post-crisis contexts.
The human engine of industry 4.0: A psychological framework for digital transformation in manufacturing Adi Fahrudin, Kus Hanna Rahmi, Fahmi Ilman Fahrudin, Siddhartha Paul Tiwari Integrating Digital Innovation and Integrated Frameworks in Manufacturing, 2025 This study explores the psychological factors influencing the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies in manufacturing. Moving beyond a purely technological perspective, it introduces a psychological framework based on the Precaution Adoption Process Model and Resource Dependence Theory. The study identifies seven key psychological barriers: acceptability, resistance, readiness, motivation, cognizance, funding, and commitment to change. Findings show that while organizational resources affect perceived competence, this does not necessarily reduce risk perception. The paper emphasizes the importance of human-centric design, emotional intelligence, and employee engagement in facilitating digital transformation. It highlights the role of cognitive ergonomics, motivation strategies, and adaptive skill development in shaping workforce readiness. Addressing challenges such as technological anxiety and change resistance requires inclusive leadership, continuous training, and feedback mechanisms.
