Technology adoption among women entrepreneurs of the Global South: a systematic literature review and research agenda Annu, Anil Kumar Kashyap, Sahil Sharma, Amit Kumar Dwivedi Journal of Management Development, 2026 Purpose The review study aims to reveal the pathway, more specifically barriers, enablers and impact of technology adoption, among women entrepreneurs of the Global South. We analyzed the existing literature to provide insights and recommendations for future research. Design/methodology/approach Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis and the theories, contexts, characteristics and methods (TCCM) frameworks are used to analyze 73 peer-reviewed journal articles indexed in Scopus, published between January 2014 and June 6, 2025. Findings Socio-cultural constraints, inadequate infrastructure, skill and literacy gaps and limited access and affordability hinder technology adoption among women entrepreneurs in the Global South. Enablers include capacity-building, support systems and facilitating conditions that strengthen women's capability of technology adoption. Consequently, the improvements in market access, income stability and empowerment are visible. However, online harassment, platform dependence, risk of cyber fraud, etc. are the emerging concerns. Practical implications The barriers, enablers and impacts are integrated into a capability pathway (contextual conditions→ barriers and enablers→ mediating mechanism→ adoption→ outcome→ feedback), which can guide researchers, policymakers, institutions and governments of the Global South to design interventions that target not only skills and infrastructure but also safety, household constraints and institutional supports. Originality/value This study advances understandings about technology adoption among women and explains why adoption trajectories and outcomes differ for women entrepreneurs in the context of the Global South.
A systematic literature review on key performance indicators for growth in small and medium enterprises Ansita Aggarwal, Amit Kumar Dwivedi International Journal of Business Excellence, 2025 The purpose of this paper is to identify the key performance indicators (KPIs) that have an impact on the growth of SMEs. SMEs' growth factors research has evolved in recent years. The study aims to recognise significant contributors, key factors, current trends, and future directions for research in SMEs. In a sample of 486 studies taken from the EBSCO and SCOPUS databases to explore the research activities undertaken on that subject, this paper adopts a literature review methodology along with citation analysis and thematic analysis. The result of a systematic review of factors affecting the growth of SMEs is presented. It utilises both the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) ranking and Scimago H-index to objectively demonstrate all the factors that can impact growth of small firms. Many interesting articles and the most prominent journals are listed based on citation analysis. The finding revealed a total of eight factors out of 73 factors, which were mentioned in a minimum of four papers. Most influential articles were identified in the analysis. This paper concludes with eight factors that SMEs need to control if they want to achieve growth in their organisation. Moreover, this study has identified research gaps and has proposed workable recommendations for the future.

Regional Variation in Entrepreneurial Attitude and Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Zahoor Ahmad Paray, Amit Kumar Dwivedi, Anuja Sharma Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Emerging Economies, 2025 The existing research demonstrates the presence of disparities in both individuals’ entrepreneurial attitudes (EAs) and the ecosystems within regions of different countries. However, most of these studies are based in Europe and the developed countries. Moreover, most of these studies use global entrepreneurship monitor (GEM) data to understand such differences. The current study collects data from five different Indian regions to understand the regional variations in an economically, culturally and geographically diverse country. Based on 11 different variables derived from the GEM questionnaire and other studies the current study wants to verify ‘perception differences for entrepreneurial attitude and entrepreneurial ecosystem in India’. One-way analysis of variance was used to verify possible mean differences among different regions of Jammu, Kashmir, Gujarat, Punjab and Karnataka. The study uses 407 student samples from various higher learning institutions in these regions. Results suggest that EA and entrepreneurial ecosystem (EE) significantly differ in the country’s northern, southern and western regions. This study brings into notice significant policy gaps and developments that affect the EE and the attitudes of the regional population. The research can be extended with newer regions and more extensive datasets to understand this phenomenon more clearly in the context of emerging and developing countries.
