Investigating the Research Path from the Past to the Future of the Common Field of Nanotechnology and Fungi: A Bibliometric Study Homa Hamayeli, Ali Mohammadi, Nader Ale Ebrahim Nano, 2024 Nanoparticles have been considered in many fields such as medicine and industry due to their very small size and their special physicochemical properties. Biosynthesis of nanoparticles has advantages over other methods. This paper examines the bibliography of the relationship between nanotechnology and fungi from 1985 to 2021. Data were collected from three databases consisting of Web of Science, Scopus, and Dimensions. The number and type of documents were examined and then the analysis was continued using VOSviewer and Bibliometrix-package on the documents of the Scopus database. Analysis of 1203 documents from this database showed an upward trend in the publication in recent years. The term “Fungi” was also identified as the keyword index and India as the country with the most published documents. Future research is likely to be on using modern techniques in the study of nanoparticles as well as focusing on other genera of fungi.
Patterns of publications in social media-based co-creation: a bibliometric analysis Sanaz Kargaran, Masoumeh Hosseinzadeh Shahri, Zahra Ghorbani, Ali Saberi, Seyedh Mahboobeh Jamali, Nader Aleebrahim Vine Journal of Information and Knowledge Management Systems, 2024 Purpose Today social media capabilities have enabled businesses and enterprises to more collaboration, engagement and co-creation with their customers. So the current paper expands on this notion. The aim of this study is a bibliometric analysis to examine the trends of publications in the field of co-creation based on social media. Design/methodology/approach To data collection of quantitative analysis, Scopus database was selected and the collected data were analyzed using Bibliometrix-package. The Web of Science also was selected to retrieve highly cited and hot papers for qualitative part of analysis besides top 10 Scopus highest citation per year documents on June 6, 2020. Findings The results indicate insights into research trends pertaining to social media-based co-creation, as follows: starting jump to the publications occurred in this researches from the year 2008 and the growth trend is progressing in recent years; the stressful points are “co-design,” “co-creation” and “value co-creation” and concepts such as “open innovation,” “co-innovation” and “co-new product design” are new topics that guide future direction; the USA and UK are leaders in number of multiple and single publications; the most active and top journals that are better suited to achieving a high citation rate per year for a related paper were introduced. In addition, the top documents and highly cited papers were qualitatively analyzed on the basis of times cited per year. Research limitations/implications The current study is not free of limitations. The database was limited to only Scopus. So the patterns and trends generated in the study may not be generalized to all social media-based co-creation research. Of course, the authors did not intend to ignore other contributions. It is mainly because of the number of documents retrieved from Scopus database and the coverage, Scopus was selected. Moreover, other types of research techniques such as correspondence analysis can be incorporated to generate additional meaningful insight. Originality/value In this time of social media and user-generated content portals, co-creation through social media has become quite popular. So the main innovation of this study is providing a visual presentation of the trends and patterns in the evaluation of social media-based co-creation from the first document about the research area published till 2020. The results of this paper can shed light on the factors that strengthen the contribution of studies in a research area. Generally, the bibliometric items the authors analyzed essentially show the entire field picture and guide researchers toward understanding future trends to produce impactful studies.
Bibliometric analysis of social media research in SMEs: a review and way forward Nordin Norfarah, A.K. Siti Nabiha, Seyedh Mahboobeh Jamali, Nader Ale Ebrahim International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Small Business, 2024 This paper seeks to determine the trend of social media research in the context of small-and-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and present the future research direction in this area. The documents were collected through a keywords title search from the Scopus database. The relevant documents are analysed using bibliometrics analysis, and qualitative systematic review to understand their structure in terms of theme, method, and theory used. This research found 141 documents from the Scopus database on SMEs' social media from 2011 to 2021. The systematic review of 20 top-cited per year (TCpY) papers are classified into three themes; SMEs' social media adoption, social media for SMEs' strategy, and innovation powered by social media in SMEs. The most popular theory used is the diffusion of innovation. Based on critical analysis, major gaps and future research are presented and discussed.
A Scientometric Methodology Based on Co-Word Analysis in Gas Turbine Maintenance Ali Nekoonam, Reza Fatehi Nasab, Soheil Jafari, Theoklis Nikolaidis, Nader Ale Ebrahim, et al. Tehnicki Vjesnik, 2023 Evaluation of scientific journals has a profound effect on the future of scientific research so that different institutes and countries can set appropriate goals and invest with less risk in various scientific fields.Accordingly, this article presents a new method based on a combination of co-word analysis and social network analysis to extract the hotspot topics.Using HistCite, NodeXL, and VOSviewer, then combining their results, the desired analysis is conducted for six time periods.Based on the bibliographic parameters in HistCite and by defining an index, the first five periods are selected such that both quantity and quality of articles in each period are maximum compared to other years, while the sixth time period contains the latest research. For each of the six periods, the co-word networks as created in VOSviewer are analyzed.Next, based on a combination of network centralities developed in NodeXL, the hotspot keywords are specified which are then validated and aggregated using the bibliographic parameters in HistCite. The results reveal five important time periods in gas turbine maintenance. The hotspot keywords obtained for the last period show that in recent years, some topics including gas turbine fault prognosis, neural network-based approaches, big data analysis, sensor fault diagnosis, blade availability, economic analysis and useful life estimation are prominent subjects in gas turbine maintenance.
Assessing the application of multi-criteria decision making techniques in hospitality and tourism research: a bibliometric study Sanaz Vatankhah, Mahlagha Darvishmotevali, Roya Rahimi, Seyedh Mahboobeh Jamali, Nader Ale Ebrahim International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, 2023 Purpose Multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) techniques are decision support systems that provide systematic approaches to solve hospitality and tourism (H&T) problems while minimizing the risk of failure. However, less is known about the application of MCDM techniques in H&T research. This study aims to systematically assess the use of MCDM techniques in H&T research to classify its current application and determine its application potential for H&T research. Design/methodology/approach This study used bibliometric analysis to examine all published MCDM studies focused on H&T industries, since 1997. In addition, topic modelling was used to discover key concepts. Finally, top cited studies in terms of total citations per year and total citations were qualitatively reviewed for more insights. Findings The findings revealed an ongoing interest in applying MCDM techniques in H&T research. Specifically, the extension of fuzzy theory in MCDM techniques is burgeoning among H&T researchers. However, a certain number of MCDM techniques seem to be ignored in this field with a repetitive application of MCDM techniques in particular areas. Research limitations/implications The data for the current research was solely retrieved from Scopus and other databases were not included. Therefore, future research is called for to re-examine the study by considering data from various databases. Originality/value This study contributes to extant H&T literature by identifying the most prolific and influential countries, journals, publications and trends by applying MCDM techniques in H&T research, and elucidating the implications and characteristics of MCDM techniques in H&T research.
Journal editors can benefit from the archived data analysis: Two case studies Shahryar Sorooshian, Nader Ale Ebrahim Handbook of Research on Driving Socioeconomic Development with Big Data, 2023 With scientometric and archived data analysis, this short report tries to investigate archives of journals versus their defined aims and scope. Hence, case explorations of two journals performed by mapping their collection which resulted in a strategic evaluation of the journals' shortcomings. A suggestion, with this short report, is presented to the editorial board as the conclusions. Moreover, the main contribution of the study is to use the two cases as a feasibility approval to comment on the possibility of journal strategic direction and management of call for papers via a scientometric approach.
Emerging Trends of Self-regulated Learning: A Comprehensive Bibliometric Analysis Xue Tao, Hafiz Hanif, Nader Ale Ebrahim World Journal of English Language, 2023 Barry J Zimmerman considered that self-regulated learning is an active learning process including strategy use, metacognition, and motivation. Self-regulation failure is the core problem of academic procrastination, which seriously threatens academic success. The present research aims to provide a complete outline of SRL and catch the trends and current hotspots. VOSviewer and Bibliometric software was used to analyze the data from the Web of Science core collection database. The results showed that there are a considerable number of publications of articles on self-regulated learning every year; the USA is the most influential country, and Maastricht University is the most productive institution; it is clear that most authors do not like to cooperate with others, which leads to major groups of writers like Azevedo Roger and Gasevic Dragan. The Frontiers in Psychology is an influential journal that received much more articles and citations. The main hotspots of self-regulated learning were: (a) self-regulated learning; (b) self-regulation; (c) metacognition; (d) motivation; (e) learning analytics. In a word, this study is useful for practitioners and scholars to comprehensively understand the trend of self-regulated learning research.
Performance of the decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory Shahryar Sorooshian, Seyedh Mahboobeh Jamali, Nader Ale Ebrahim Aims Mathematics, 2023
<p>Multiple attribute decision-making (MADM) techniques constitute a practical approach for solving complex problems involving multiple and often conflicting criteria. Decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) is a popular MADM technique with both admirers and critics. This study presents a comprehensive review of DEMATEL through bibliometric analysis using the Scopus database. This article examined 3,521 papers published in journals, conferences or books between 1981 and 2023. We examined a few parameters for commenting on the performance of the technique. Among them are research outputs, the network of DEMATEL users, implementation subject areas, research zones, financing opportunities and publication hosts and their impact trends. We conclude from the findings of this study that the DEMATEL is capable of dealing with modern problem-solving in future environments. Although the growth of new MADMs is obvious, based on the gathered data, we forecast that more than 776 documents will be published in 2025 using DEMATEL for problem-solving. This expanding tendency will continue in the future. As distinct MADMs have diverse constraints, foundations, computing complexity and standpoints, which result in different performances, outmoded low-performance MADM techniques must be reported by researchers to continue this paper's objective to minimize ambiguity among decision-makers and practitioners. To facilitate such a comparison in the future, a quantitative performance coefficient was also developed here.</p>
