Mediators of Teaching Strategies and Students’ Academic Performance in Social Studies: A Mediation Analysis Shaira P. Agustin, Joel I. Alvarez, John Mark V. Del Carmen Educational Process International Journal, 2025 This study extensively explored the intricate relationship among teaching strategies, students' academic performance, and their perceptions within the domain of Araling Panlipunan, focusing specifically on Grade 10 students. Through a descriptive-correlational research design and mediation analysis, the investigation aimed to thoroughly understand how different teaching methods impact students' learning outcomes. It acknowledged the crucial role of effective pedagogical methods in fostering critical thinking, comprehension, and active engagement among students, emphasizing the significance of tailored instructional approaches that cater to individual learning needs. The study delved into various teaching strategies including the Lecture Method, Cooperative Learning, Incorporating Technology and Multimedia Resources, and Role Playing, examining their influence on students' academic performance and perceptions of learning in Araling Panlipunan. Findings from perception surveys and focus groups provided valuable insights into students' perspectives, revealing positive perceptions towards interactive methods and technology integration, while also highlighting areas for improvement such as accommodating diverse learning styles and promoting teamwork. The research meticulously assessed students' academic performance through teacher-made tests, identifying a diverse range of readiness levels among students and emphasizing the correlation between teaching strategies and academic achievements. Additionally, the study uncovered students' strong positive perceptions and engagement levels towards Araling Panlipunan, emphasizing its role in fostering cultural understanding and global citizenship. The findings underscored the importance of continuous refinement and innovation in teaching strategies to enhance learning experiences and outcomes in Araling Panlipunan, contributing to the broader discourse on effective educational practices.
EVALUATING THE IMPACT OF AI–POWERED TUTORS MATHGPT AND FLEXI 2.0 IN ENHANCING CALCULUS LEARNING Joel I. Alvarez Jurnal Ilmiah Ilmu Terapan Universitas Jambi, 2024 This study evaluates the effectiveness of AI-driven technologies, Flexi 2.0 and MathGPT, in enhancing personalized learning and advanced cognitive abilities among pre-service mathematics educators participating in Calculus I. Participants were allocated to a control group receiving conventional training and an experimental group utilizing AI technology, applying a quantitative experimental design. Data were gathered utilizing validated evaluations, surveys, and interviews. The results indicated that students employing AI tutors showed significant improvements in problem-solving and personalized learning compared to the control group. Concerns arose regarding potential over-reliance on AI, underscoring the need for rigorous criteria to guarantee that students engage actively in learning rather than passively receiving AI-generated responses. The findings suggest that educators should create activities requiring students to critically evaluate AI-generated responses to promote independent thinking. The findings highlight the potential of AI in mathematics education while stressing the importance of ethical considerations and teacher oversight. It requires both students and staff training to adapt to improvements in AI inside education. The study reveals that while AI can improve learning outcomes, careful implementation is essential for its effective and responsible use in educational settings.
