  • Leveraging real-time data: A location-based ambulance booking and tracking system with geofencing
Prashant Chavan, Priyanka Paygude, Snehal Rathi, Mahesh M. Patil, Tulshihar Patil, et al.
Journal of Integrated Science and Technology, 2025
Delayed ambulance arrival is a critical issue in emergency medical care, impacting patient outcomes. This research addresses the challenge of slow response times in India's ambulance services. Our proposed system aims to significantly improve response times and patient transportation efficiency. To provide rapid medical assistance, the technology allows dynamic ambulance reservations depending on the severity of the accident, deploys competent drivers, and transmits real-time traffic data. The paper details the system's architecture and approach, including the use of Firebase Authentication and AWS Amplify for user management and backend development. Integration of various APIs (Google Maps API, Google Places Auto Complete, and Distance Matrix API) enhances user experience and functionality. This research presents a real-time ambulance booking and tracking system with the potential to revolutionize emergency medical response in India.
  • Electrospun composite nanofibers for wound healing: synthesis, characterization, and clinical potential of biopolymer-based materials
Prashant D. Yadav, Pramod V. Londhe, Sachin S. Chavan, Dadaso D. Mohite, Ghansham B. Firame, Sarang S. Kadam, Mahesh J. Patil, M. I. Ansari
    Discover Materials, 2024
The recent advancements in nanotechnology have significantly impacted wound healing, particularly through the development of electrospun nanofibers (NFs). This review summarizes research on electrospun NFs made from chitosan, gelatin, curcumin, and rutin, focusing on their potential for wound healing applications. Chitosan is noted for its antimicrobial and biocompatible properties, gelatin for its excellent biocompatibility and biodegradability, and curcumin and rutin for their strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Electrospinning is employed to produce these NFs with controlled diameters and morphologies. This review discusses the preparation methods, optimal electrospinning parameters, and challenges like solution viscosity and environmental conditions. It also includes an assessment of NFs using SEM, TEM, FTIR, XRD, tensile testing, and DSC to evaluate morphology, chemical composition, mechanical and thermal properties, and biodegradability. In vitro and in vivo testing evaluate the NFs' wound healing efficacy, including biocompatibility, antimicrobial activity, hemocompatibility, and wound closure rates in animal models. The review highlights that NF combining chitosan, gelatin, curcumin, and rutin show enhanced wound healing due to their synergistic properties, which promote cell proliferation, reduce inflammation, and prevent infection. Despite promising results, challenges in optimizing the synthesis process and ensuring consistent clinical performance remain. Further research is needed to address these challenges and advance the clinical application of these NFs. This review aims to guide future research and contribute to the development of more effective wound-healing therapies.

  • The strength analysis of hybrid (Bolted and bonded) single lap joints for composite materials
Mahesh J. Patil*, , Prof. Dr. Rajendrakumar N. Patil, and
International Journal of Innovative Technology and Exploring Engineering, 2019
The two joining techniques i.e. adhesive bonding and mechanical fastening combined are termed as hybrid joints. These kinds of joints mix the benefits of each the joining ways. The composite materials are used in structures at larger extend because of its properties like high strength to weight ratio, high fatigue resistance, high impact strength etc. The paper evaluates the mechanical behavior of Hybrid joint using composite as adherents subjected to tensile loading. The joint was observed to fail in two stages. Initially because of failure of adhesive and later by the failure of the bolt. The different parameters like overlap length, bolt size, tightening torque and adhesive thickness were studied and the significant factor were found to be overlap length, bolt size and tightening torque
  • Failure evaluation of hybrid joints using Taguchi method
Mr. Mahesh J. Patil, , Prof. Dr. Rajendrakumar N. Patil, and
International Journal of Engineering and Advanced Technology, 2019
The structural joints for various applications like automobile, aero planes, ships etc. used mechanical fasteners or adhesives for joining purpose. The mechanical fastener increases the weight of the joints and the adhesives have a catastrophic failure nature. So to reduce the overall weight of the joint and avoid the catastrophic failure of the joint, Hybrid Joint, which is the combination of the two methods (Bolts and adhesives) is used. The Analytical Hierarchal process (AHP) is used to select the parameters that affect the performance of the joint. The selected parameters were bolt size, tightening torque, bolt hole clearance, adhesive type, adhesive thickness, overlap length and joint material and the response variables were failure load and displacement The optimum parameters were selected by using Taguchi analysis with L27 orthogonal array experimental design. The significant parameters were found to be Adhesive type, Adhesive thickness and Joint Material.
