SYNTHESIS AND STUDY OF AN ADHESIVE COMPOSITION BASED ON OXALIC ACID, FORMALDEHYDE AND PHTHALIMIDE USING IR, UV SPECTROSCOPY AND DFT CALCULATIONS Sayfulla I. Nazarov, Bakhtiyor Sh. Ganiev, Dana S. Journal of Chemistry and Technologies, 2026 Developing environmentally friendly and highly effective adhesive compositions is a pressing challenge in modern materials science. This study synthesized and comprehensively characterized a new adhesive based on oxalic acid, formaldehyde, and phthalimide. These compounds were chosen as starting materials due to their expected adhesive properties and relative environmental friendliness. The resulting sample was analyzed using infrared (IR) and ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy to identify characteristic functional groups and intermolecular interactions. Additionally, a quantum-chemical analysis using density functional theory (DFT) was performed to evaluate the electronic structure, chemical bonding characteristics, and molecular stability. IR spectroscopy confirmed the presence of absorption bands corresponding to esterification and amide bonds, while UV-Vis spectroscopy data indicated the formation of conjugated systems that provide structural strength. Theoretical calculations are consistent with experimental observations and confirm the favorable electronic properties of the molecule. A combined experimental and theoretical approach provided a comprehensive understanding of the molecular architecture and potential adhesive properties. Thus, the adhesive based on oxalic acid, formaldehyde, and phthalimide exhibits good adhesion strength and is environmentally friendly to synthesize, making it promising for a wide range of industrial and sustainable applications.
FLAME-RETARDANT BEHAVIOR OF UREA–METAPHOSPHORIC ACID COMPLEXES ON CELLULOSE-BASED MATERIALS Gulyayra K. Kholikova, Uktam M. Mardonov, Bakhtiyor Sh. Ganiyev, Dilshoda A. Khazratova, Sevda H. Journal of Chemistry and Technologies, 2025 In this study, novel urea metaphosphate complexes were synthesized at 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3 molar ratios using urea and metaphosphoric acid to obtain mono-, di-, and trimetaphosphate derivatives (UMP, UDP, and UTP). The synthesized compounds were comprehensively characterized through FTIR spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), and elemental analysis, confirming their structural frameworks, protonation levels, and compositional features. Crystallographic analysis revealed distinct variations in unit-cell symmetry and packing as the phosphate chain length increased, indicating the formation of progressively more complex hydrogen-bonding networks. The flame-retardant performance of the complexes was examined using treated cellulose-based substrates, including paper, cardboard, and cotton fabric, in accordance with GOST R 50810-95 and GOST 12.1.004-91 standards. Experimental results demonstrated a clear enhancement in flame-retardant efficiency with increasing phosphate content, with UTP exhibiting the highest thermal stability and char-forming capability. Overall, the findings highlight the potential of urea metaphosphate complexes as multifunctional materials with promising applications in both agrochemistry and fire-protection technologies.
Synthesis, Spectroscopic Characterization and DFT Analysis of Schiff Bases Derived from Benzalacetone and Benzalacetophenone with Alanine Sardor Karomatov, Bakhtiyor Ganiyev, Zarnigor Aymatova, Xanifa Xaydarova, Fotima Xodjayeva E3s Web of Conferences, 2025 This comprehensive study investigates the synthesis, characterization, and potential biological activities of novel Schiff bases derived from the condensation reactions of benzalacetone and benzalacetophenone with alanine. The compounds were synthesized via condensation reactions between the respective carbonyl compounds and alanine, yielding stable inline derivatives. The structures of the synthesized Schiff bases were confirmed using proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR). carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance (13C NMR). and infrared (IR) spectroscopy. The IR spectra revealed characteristic inline (C=N) stretching vibrations, indicating successful Schiff base formation. DFT (Density Functional Theory) calculations were performed at the B3LYP/6-31 lG(d.p) level to optimize the molecular geometries and to compute vibrational frequencies, which were found to be in good agreement with experimental data. Additionally, frontier molecular orbital (HOMO-LUMO) analysis was earned out to assess the electronic properties and chemical reactivity of the compounds. The results contribute to a deeper understanding of the structural and electronic characteristics of amino acid-derived Schiff bases, highlighting their potential for applications in coordination chemistry and materials science.
Chemical Composition and In Silico Study of the Biological Activities of Alkaloids from Peganum harmala Gulbakhor Khudoynazarova, Zulfiya Kodirova, Bakhtiyor Ganiev, Sherali Jalilov, Rakhmonova Mavluda E3s Web of Conferences, 2025 Peganum harmala is employed extensively in ethnopharmacology but little literature has been done on the bioactive alkaloids of this plant. This paper gives an experimental finding on the chemical composition of P. harmala. It analyzes by quantum-chemical and in silico the biological characteristics of its primary alkaloids, peganine and deoxypyganine. The analysis of the samples by HPLC at various stages of growth showed that the quantity of peganine peaks at the stage when the branching occurs (up to 83% in the sample on May 14, 2023). DFT results indicated that the two alkaloids have good electronic behavior and peganine has high index of electrophilicity and high electron affinity. The active sites were determined by molecular electrostatic potential (MEP) mapping, whereas system-level activity was proved by density of states (DOS) spectra. Molecular docking of human 6s5a protein showed that peganine and deoxypeganine bind with an affinity of -7.59 kcal/mol as well as -8.13 kcal/mol. respectively, which are strong molecular affinities. These findings indicate that the alkaloid of P. harmala especially peganine has promising pharmacological activities that should be further confirmed in the context of in vitro and in vivo experiments.
