I am a Junior Post-Doctoral researcher at the Neuropharmacology Laboratory of the Department of Experimental and Health Sciences at Pompeu Fabra University. I did my Ph.D. Thesis in the University of Girona about the characterization of two new animal models of fibromyalgia and their pharmacological treatment.
My main area of research is focused on the study of chronic pain, its pathophysiology, and its pharmacological treatment. This research is framed in two European projects of the Horizon 2020 framework, focused on the elucidation of the neurobiological substrate of analgesia mechanisms using novel compounds (in single or joint administration) as an alternative to opioids in mice and the characterization of novel biomarkers of pain and total co-morbidity in mice.
Moreover, I am also interested in the pathophysiology of depression and the reasons for the resilience to current drug therapies. In an EraNet-Neuron funding project, using the Unpredictable Chronic Mild Stress (UCMS) para
