    A hybrid Mg composite filled with micro Al2O3 and nano TiO2 is manufactured through a blend press sinter powder metallurgy route. To appraise the significance of filler incorporation on the mechanical and corrosion strength, the composite is undergoing a series of characterizations. Initially the filler distribution was analyzed through electron microscopes. Static mechanical tests as per ASTM are conducted to measure the influence of fillers on the tensile and compression properties. The corrosion characteristics were studied by immersing the composites into the laboratory synthesized stimulated body fluid (SBF). Through the Tafel Polarization, the corroded surfaces are examined. The corrosion resistance of the composites exhibited a change that closely resembled that of pure magnesium. Based on the experimental findings, it appears that the composite being examined is well-suited for various biomedical applications, particularly in the field of dental implants.

    In this study, zirconium oxide (ZrO)-cerium oxide (CeO) based composite coatings were fabricated using doctor blade method to protect pure magnesium from corrosion. The effects of ZrO and CeO on corrosion resistance of magnesium coatings were investigated using Tafel polarization method. Uniform deposition of composite coating without micro-voids was observed from scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis. The results exhibit that the addition of CeO show a higher corrosion resistance in comparison with the specimen coated without CeO in the electrolyte and bare Mg, and also it reduces the corrosion rate of Mg up to 3.67 x 10-5 mpy. Surface morphology of the so developed composite coating result a minimum corrosion on the surface. The usage of ZrO/CeO as coating material is a promising anticorrosive measure for Mg and its alloys due to its elevated corrosion resistance and durability.

    The Mg based composites with the element addition of 3Zn, 0.5Mn and the reinforcement of ceramic particles nanoTiO2 and Al2O3 are added to form an Mg-hybrid composites through powder metallurgy method.The examination is mainly concentrated on the effect of multi ceramic particles such as nanoTiO2 and Al2O3 inclusion in the composite matrix for the characteristics of hardness, tensile strength, wear and corrosion.Optical and scanning electron microscopy are used for the micro structural variation.X-ray diffraction is used to analysis the various phases available in the hybrid composites matrix.Many intermetallic phase are formed during heat treatment process which reduces the porosity and increases density and corrosion resistance of the composites.The hard ceramic particles inclusion, hot extrusion process and heat treatment or stress-relieving mechanism enhances the above said properties of the prepared hybrid composites.
