Lecturer with a home base in the Master of Public Health Study Program at Prima Nusantara University Bukittinggi. In addition to teaching at the Postgraduate Program, the author also teaches at the Public Health Study Program specializing in Environmental Health and the Health Promotion Study Program on the same campus. The courses taught by the author include Education in Nursing and Interpersonal Education, Evidence Based Practice, Environmental Quality Analysis, Environmental Health Epidemiology, Basic Environmental Health, Health of Public Places and Tourism, Food and Beverage Sanitation, Water Pollution and Health, and Clean Water Supply. The author is also active in writing scientific articles in journals of national and international repute, as well as being a reviewer for several national journals including: (1) Journal of Ecology, Science, and Society; (2) Pedagogic Journal: Journal of Islamic Elementary School; (3) Judikdas: Journal of Indonesian Basic Education Science

    This study was aimed at finding out the confirmatory information from the Hungerford and Volk (1990) model regarding the effect of personal investment, personal commitment, locus of control, intention to act, and citizenship behavior toward the environment. A survey method was used by involving 185 generation Z students as sample in this study. There were five instruments in this study for measuring citizenship behavior toward the environment (21 items, reliability .917), personal investment (28 items, reliability .947), personal commitment (30 items, reliability .938) Locus of control (30 items, reliability .923 ) and intention to act (24 items, reliability .945). Data was analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis, inferential statistics for linearity test and path analysis. The results revealed that citizenship behavior toward the environment significantly affected directly personal investment, personal commitment, locus of control and intention to act. Moreover, it was also found that citizenship behavior toward the environment significantly affected indirectly by personal investment and personal commitment through locus of control and intention to act. Based on those findings, it can be concluded that variations in citizeship behavior toward the environment of generation Z are affected by variations in personal investment, personal commitment, locus of control and intention to act. It means that locus of control and intention to act are suitable mediator variables for personal investment and personal commitment to citizenship behavior toward the environment.

    Environmental problems that continue to occur to this day has become a serious threat to the international world. Despite numerous research and investigation against the environmental problems continue to be done, but the solutions offered have not been fully able to cope with environmental problems. It is important that we should examine and change is our daily behaviors as a wise society to the environment. This article aims to review some research articles related to Environmental Citizenship Behaviors. Review this article based on the flowchart “Environmental Citizenship Behavior” developed by Hungerford & Volk in 1990. The research method used is survey with a causal approach and characterized by a data analysis technique using path analysis. The nature of the research used to test both direct and indirect effect among variables. In the framework of the flowchart was developed the variables in the Entry Level, the Ownership, and Empowerment of influential directly and indirectly towards the Environmental Citizenship Behavior to the environment. Based on the findings, it could be concluded that all of these entry level variables, ownership variables, and empowerment variables have direct and indirect effect towards environmental citizenship behavior.
