EDUCATION

Carlos A Osorio Martinez is a Professor in the Santo Tomas University (seccional Bucaramanga) environmental chemistry faculty where he has been a faculty member since 2020. Researcher at the Environmental Research Group for Sustainable Development (GIADS). The research work is focused on organic synthesis and development of new materials with fluorescent compounds such as quantum tracers, biomarkers, detection of pollutants and applications in cells and solar panels, in the same way, chemistry of natural products with environmental and pharmacological applications. Carlos completed his Ph.D. at Guanajuato University (Guanajuato-Mexico) and his undergraduate studies at Industrial University of Santander– Bucaramanga (Santander), Colombia. His research interests lie in the area of organic chemistry, synthesis, methods and characterisation techniques for organic molecules and fluorescent compounds as a consequence of the extensive knowledge and experience in these areas.
