  • Book detection using deep learning
    P. Prashanth, K. Sai Vivek, D. Ruthvik Reddy, K. Aruna
Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Computing Methodologies and Communication Iccmc 2019, 2019
This paper deals with library automation and book detection using deep learning which comes under field of computer vision [1]. In order to automate a large Library where finding a book is a tough task, this paper shows a solution for it. Here we detect the required book with the help of deep learning concept through MATLAB Neural network toolbox which can pick the particular book with the help of a mobile manipulator. Convolutional neural network used is Alex Net which can detect around 1000 classes.Deep learning is a part of machine learning in which a network learns how to classify objects from texts, Images, and sound. The first part in the name Deep Learning i.e. "deep" means number of layers in the network—A network is said to be deeper when it has many layers. Generally neural networks contain 2 or 3 layers, while deeper networks contain hundreds of layers. The device used is a rover with capability of holding a book with its fingers. It also consists of a camera which scans through the books whose output is then analysed by a neural network.
  • Ubiquitous signal scavenging circuit for energy reaping (USER)
    G. Indumathi, B. Vikas Nanthan, P. Prashanth
Proceedings of 2017 International Conference on Innovations in Information Embedded and Communication Systems Iciiecs 2017, 2017
The intention of the work is to investigate the usage of RF signals that is present in the atmosphere and convert it into a useful DC power that can drive wireless sensor nodes. As sensor node cannot be charged manually by replacing its battery and identifying the node without of power is difficult, so the use of RF power harvesting can solve this problem. The work also revolves around the idea that alternate energy provided to wireless sensor node would make it immortal and would provide a constant link with the main node. The selection of bandwidth for RF signals and the design of the circuits for the energy harvesting can be discussed further. The circuits and antenna are embedded with the sensor node so that an alternate source of energy is found by the sensor node itself.
  • Architecture of adders based on speed, area and power dissipation
    P. Prashanth, Prabhu Swamy
Proceedings of the 2011 World Congress on Information and Communication Technologies Wict 2011, 2011
Adders are commonly found in the critical path of many building blocks of microprocessor and digital signal processor chips. A fast and accurate operation of digital system is greatly influenced by the performance of resident adders. The most important for measuring the quality of adder designs are computation time and area. Here different adder architectures are simulated and analyzed based on power dissipation, area and speed by using Microwind and Dsch tool. The computation time and the area is reduced in a large amount in Parallel feedback carry adder (PFCA) when compared to other full adders (Ex: Ripple Carry adder, and the Carry-Look Ahead adder etc.), the advantage of PFCA will be more when n is larger. PFCA is faster in speed and smaller in area. The power dissipation of low power 1-bit full adder circuits such as 10- T adders, 11-T adder are analyzed
