This research aims to analyze the role of technological development as a critical success factor in the creation and consolidation of sustainable enterprises in Mexico. By examining how technology drives innovation, efficiency, and competitiveness, the study seeks to identify strategic practices that support environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable business models. Through a mixed-method approach, combining literature review and fieldwork with entrepreneurs and experts, this project contributes to the understanding of sustainable entrepreneurship and the promotion of best practices within emerging economies.
Sustainable entrepreneurship has established itself as a key alternative to boost economic, social and environmental development in regional contexts facing significant structural challenges. In the case of Michoacán, Mexico, the need to strengthen business models that integrate sustainability principles is a priority in the face of problems such as inequality, environmental deterioration and limited productive diversification. In this context, the present research aims to identify the critical success factors that influence the creation and consolidation of sustainable enterprises in the region, based on a theoretical and empirical analysis that allows understanding the essential characteristics that should be considered from the conceptualization stage of the business idea.
