Dr. Deepak Ranjan Sahoo is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in academia and industry, particularly in finance and technology. His area of specialization is Accounting, Finance and Financial Technology. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Savitribai Phule Pune University, along with a series of certifications in areas such as Financial Risk Management, Data Analytics, Finance Technology and Blockchain. With 11 years of teaching experience and 2 years in the industry. His keen area of Interest in Behavioral Finance, Financial Modelling Corporate Finance, Financial Risk Management, Financial Derivatives, Corporate Valuation and Financial Market.

    Corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives have expanded to encompass a wide array of endeavors aimed at fostering inclusivity across society. This chapter delves into the role of CSR in promoting inclusivity within the realms of game-based learning and professional employment. Through an examination of existing literature and case studies, this chapter underscores the significance of CSR endeavors in fostering a more inclusive environment for diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities, minorities, and marginalized groups. Game-based learning and professional employment stand out as domains with profound implications for social and economic impact. This thematic analysis explores the intersection of these two areas and their contributions to broader social and economic outcomes. By integrating methods of game-based learning with inclusive employment practices, businesses can play a pivotal role in advancing social equity while simultaneously enhancing organizational performance and fostering innovation.
  • Exploring the ethical perspectives of sustainable finance: A research study

    This chapter examines some of the ethical views around sustainable finance and provides an overview of recent empirical research on whether one can expect better investment returns from pursuing sustainability. Using empirical approaches, this chapter explores the relationship between corporate sustainability and financial performance, providing evidence-based perspectives of the ethical considerations and pragmatic implications evidenced in sustainable finance. This chapter aims at full ethical exposition of sustainability practices and its interaction with firm's profitability. They include the effect of corporate sustainability practices on financial performance, findings on ESG investment returns in the literature, and explanations, which could explain these findings. The chapter also speaks to the normative role of investor preferences, risk considerations, as well as regulatory imponderables in the evolution of sustainable financial ethics. The chapter examines a number of studies that examine the connection between investment returns and ESG issues.
  • Exploring the nexus of sustainable finance: ESG ethical framework practices

    Ethical Quandaries in Business Practices Exploring Morality and Social Responsibility, 2024
    The rising demand for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosure by stakeholders has spurred a wave of sustainability reporting, including a focus on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This surge in interest has led to the development of carbon accounting, ESG disclosure measures, and regulations to enhance the credibility of ESG information globally. The chapter aims to analyze the risks and opportunities of ESG practices and the impact of different stakeholders on the tools and frameworks used across various sectors to report sustainability performance. The study finds that transparent ESG information allows business leaders to engage more effectively with investors and stakeholders. Additionally, global, national, and organizational leaders have a legal and ethical responsibility to achieve sustainable outcomes for their communities. The research reveals a correlation between higher ESG scores and reduced stock price collapse risk. This work contributes to the broader discourse by highlighting ESG's economic impact, particularly its protective role against stock price downturns. It also adds to the literature on factors determining stock price collapse risk and underscores the practical implications of promoting ESG to mitigate financial risks and guidelines.

The chapter highlights the efficiencies block chain offers, such as reduced transaction costs and decreased reliance on central counterparties, while also addressing the challenges and systemic risks it presents. Through a multidisciplinary lens encompassing data, code, finance, and legal frameworks, regulators can effectively manage block chain's impact on capital markets.
