    Physical energy meter reading concept is outdated and it is not efficient, leading to lots of wastage of manpower and errors, btaining accurate real-time readings is challenging and complex to achieve consistently. Current implementations of IoT technology allow real-time monitoring and energy management capabilities with the integration of IoT ecosystems, Digital Communication Technology networks, and Machine Learning algorithms to further analyze data as well as enhance user convenience. However, despite their promising potential, these systems face ongoing challenges, including adaptability, scalability, interoperability and enhanced cyber security resilience, particularly in large-scale deployments. This review examines present SHEMS and their capabilities, from strengths such as real-time tracking of energy usage, optimization and consumption of energy at offpeak hours by the application of predictive analytics using Machine Learning. This also elucidates areas for improvement, such as an improved integration of renewable energy technologies, simplification of the complexities surrounding large-scale deployment and sustainability over the long term. Addressing these deficits, this paper further promotes advancements in the design of SHEMS that are more secure, scalable and inter-operable, increasing communication across IoT ecosystems and by using smart grid technology, which could improve effective management of energy and a potential wider uptake. These suggestions are aimed at fine-tuning existing technologies to be easily integrated into modern, automated energy systems for better energy management.
  • E-Learning Privacy in the Context of Machine Learning

    The present paper discusses the privacy issues associated with the usage of machine learning in e-learning systems. Although ML is a promising technology that increases personalization and engagement, it also poses significant security concerns in terms of gathering and using sensitive data. E-learning platforms are vulnerable to problems such as breaches, unauthorized access, and misutilization of personal information. The paper addresses two major concerns: recommendation engines and predictive performance systems, which emphasize the weaknesses and shortcomings in current data privacy and protection measures. In an attempt to address these challenges, the paper develops a privacy-preserving framework based on federated learning and data anonymization technologies. Together, these technologies work in the decentralization of data storage and reduction of exposure yet provide personalized experiences. There is a comparative study that will analyze whether such solutions could help improve data privacy and at the same time maintain functionality in ML. Finally, a balance between security and user experience is brought into discussion, but this time it puts emphasis on the need to have personalization without sacrificing privacy. The final result is a framework for privacy that supports the fulfillment of laws like GDPR, while in the meantime maintaining the best of the personalization that this brings with the ML approach so that an effective solution towards modern e-learning systems can be availed.
  • EmotionTracker: Real-time Facial Emotion Detection with OpenCV and DeepFace

    This paper introduces a real-time facial emotion detection and analysis system, leveraging a Streamlit-based web interface for user interaction and video processing. The motivation behind this research lies in the increasing relevance of facial emotion detection in diverse applications, including human-computer interaction and mental health monitoring. The project addresses the challenge of efficiently capturing, analyzing, and presenting emotional insights from user-uploaded videos. The primary problem tackled by the system is the need for a comprehensive and user-friendly solution to extract emotion-related information from facial expressions in real-time video streams. Employing a combination of OpenCV, DeepFace, and Streamlit, the system processes uploaded videos, detects facial emotions at each timestamp, and generates an emotion-annotated output. The methodology involves integrating OpenCV for video processing, DeepFace for emotion analysis, and Streamlit for an interactive user interface. Results showcase the system’s ability to identify dominant emotions, quantify occurrences, and present the findings in an easily comprehensible manner. The implications of this work extend to various domains, such as enhancing human-computer interaction experiences and contributing to mental health research. The user-friendly interface and efficient emotion detection mechanisms make this system a valuable tool for researchers, practitioners, and developers seeking to explore and implement facial emotion analysis in real-world applications.
  • Fault Identification in Modified Hybrid Digital Pulse Width Modulation using Triple Modular Redundancy

    In this paper, the fault analysis is performed for the identification in the Modified Hybrid Digital Pulse Width Modulation by making use of the Triple Modular Redundancy method. The developed algorithm is real time implemented using the Xilinx Artix 7 FPGA device. The Modified Hybrid Digital Pulse Width Modulation is designed for the purpose of minimizing the Turn-ON and Turn-OFF delays in the triggering event of the generated Digital Pulse Width Modulation. Though additional compensatory circuits are added for the delay reduction, the area utilization is still low when implemented in FPGA device. Also, the Triple Modular Redundancy consists of three times of MHDPWM signal generation to check for the fault occurrence. For the sake of validating the fault identification, the majority voter circuit is used that could find the error at the earliest. The proposed method is checked for errors by inducing within the VHDL code and trailed with multiple duty cycle values. The proposed fault identification method is validated for VLSI parameters such as area, delay and power.
  • Digital Design of Counter based Pulse Width Modulation in Quantum dot Cellular Automata

    In this paper, design, layout, and successful simulation of a Digital Pulse Width Modulator in QCA is presented. Due to its extraordinary feature of small size and congruent power consumption, Quantum-dot cellular automata (QCA) has become one of most rapidly expanding nanotechnology research field and has endured a lot of attentiveness within engineering community in comparison with CMOS technology. According to reports, Quantum Dot Cellular has high device density and also has a low power consumption. Unlike traditional computers, which transport data by sending an electrical current from one location to another, QCA sends data by generating a polarization state. Several researchers have been employing QCA to investigate very complex circuit topologies in recent years. The architecture of Quantum Dot Cellular Automata for counter based Digital Pulse Width Modulation is presented in this brief. The counter and comparator circuits are included in the planned counter based Digital Pulse Width Modulation.
  • Performance Analysis of a novel Fusion Adder/Subtractor design

    This paper proposes a novel fusion 1bit Adder/Subtractor design using the CMOS transistor. The proposed novel fusion 1 bit Adder/Subtractor is utilized in the design of parallel adder/subtractor with the resolution upto 27 bits. Though there are several design technologies like static CMOS logic, Dynamic CMOS, CPL, Transmission Gate Array, the proposed Fusion Design is advantageous for minimized chip area, low power consumption and high speed of operation. In this work, two circuit topologies are proposed by utilizing the 8T and 12T XOR CMOS design for the novel Fusion Adder/Subtractor. This paper compares the parametric values of power, delay and area with the existing methods. The proposed design is developed using the Cadence Virtuoso Tool with the technology of 45 nm. The proposed fusion design exhibits low power and delay as the resolution of the design is increased. Also the chip area is 0.3138µm2 for the 28T FAS circuit and 0.165 µm2 for the proposed 24T FAS circuit.
