Design and analysis of high-performance cascaded microring resonator and highly sensitive temperature sensor using photonic crystal-based topological edge state Dhiraj Kumar, Jayanta Kumar Rakshit, Chittaranjan Nayak, Arka Roy Bin Optical Engineering, 2025 Photonic crystals–based cascaded microring resonator structure is proposed to improve the performance using the concept of two-dimensional constrained topological edge states. The topological edge state is created when two microring resonators with distinct band topologies meet an interface and are contained inside a slab of dielectric material which results in a sharp increase in quality factor. The suggested results of the proposed structure were accepted for sensing application, as demonstrated here for temperature sensing. The estimated sensitivity, with a very high-quality factor of 2516, is 3.79 nm/°C.
Design of Acoustic 4×2 Encoder Using Phononic Crystal Based Single Ring Resonator Arka Roy Bin, Jayanta Kumar Rakshit, Dhiraj Kumar 2024 IEEE Silchar Subsection Conference Silcon 2024, 2024 This paper proposes a unique design for a 4×2 encoder using a 2D phononic crystal ring resonator. The suggested encoder structure is based on acoustic waveguides and a crystal ring resonator cavity that operates at a single frequency of 45.1 kHz. The two-dimensional structure is realized in the square lattice with a rectangular mercury base and cylindrical water rods. The design is supported by performance factors such as amplitude modulation, contrast ratio and extinction ratio. Comsol Multiphysics is used for all the linked design and simulation processes. The design may be essential in phononic integrated circuits used in undersea and medical applications.
Design of Photonic Crystal-Based Micro Ring Resonator Using Topological Interface State & All Optical AND Logic Gates Using Kerr Effect Dhiraj Kumar, Jayanta Kumar Rakshit, Arka Roy Bin 2024 IEEE Silchar Subsection Conference Silcon 2024, 2024 Using the idea of 2D topological edge states (TES), we suggest a photonic-crystal micro ring resonator (MRR) to raise the quality factor. We have created and modelled a nonlinear AND logic gate using photonic crystals (PhCs). GaAs dielectric rods have been utilised in this structure's air. The two-dimensional finite difference time-domain (2D-FDTD) approach is also used to simulate the structure, and the plane wave expansion (PWE) method is utilised to generate the guided modes in the suggested structure. A good performing optimum dense PhCs AND logic gate based on the Kerr-effect is constructed & simulated using the PhC Ring Resonator (PhCRR).
