Gert was a parttime lecturer at the Avans University College (Netherlands, 1999-2006), the AP University College of Antwerp (Belgium 1995-2018) and the UC University College Leuven-Limburg (Belgium, 2006-2011) in various bachelor programs. In 2000 he became the director of the institute of adult education CVO EduKempen located in the North of Belgium. Internationally, Gert was coordinator of several ERASMUS projects (2008-2025) on adult education and is a member of the Flemish Educational Councel (VLOR) section adult education.
EDUCATION
MSc. Gert Hurkmans (Belgium, 1970) completed a Master in Chemistry at the University of Antwerp (1994) and is holder of the teacherscertificate for education in Belgium (1996). He is also a graduate of the Free University of Brussels, and holds an additional Master in Educational Research (1997).
