Economic-psychological maturity as predictor of pre-retirement planning: psychometric check of the model T.V. Drobysheva, S.V. Tarasov, I.V. Larionov Experimental Psychology Russia, 2025
Context and relevance. The problem of economic and psychological determinants of retirement planning in Russian psychology has not been sufficiently studied. Based on the cognitive and systemic approaches, we present a model of the relationship between the economic-psychological maturity of pre-retirees and the process of retirement planning. Objective: empirical verification of the model of the relationship between economic and psychological maturity and retirement planning. Hypotheses. The contribution of indicators of economic and psychological maturity will differ at different stages of retirement planning. Economic responsibility and activity can be considered as the main predictors of retirement planning among pre-retirees in Russia. Methods and materials. The study was conducted using the Anketolog platform in 2024. The sample included 400 participants (mean age = 51.35, standard deviation = 4.47), including 201 men and 199 women. The study used the following methods: “The Process Of Retirement Planning Scale” by J. Noone, S. Stephens, and F. Alpass (2024), “Personal Financial Autonomy Scale” (Drobysheva et al., 2024), questionnaires: “Responsibility for Economic Well-Being”, “Economic Tolerance towards Others”, “Attitudes Towards Economic Activity” (Drobysheva, 2023). Results. The general and gender-specific interrelationships of the phenomena studied are described. The economic-psychological maturity (independent variables) indicator’s contribution varies at different stages of planning. The most significant connections were found at the first two stages and the last stage of planning. It is shown that economic-psychological maturity in the subgroup of women of pre-retirement age predicts decision-making lesser than in the subgroup of men, but to a greater extent — the goal-setting process. Conclusions. The verification of the model has shown the importance of economic and psychological maturity in the planning process for retirement by pre-retirees. Conclusions about the practical relevance of these findings for social and financial organizations that provide support for retirement are drawn.

RETIREMENT PLANNING IN THE PRE-RETIREMENT AGE: INITIAL ADAPTATION AND VALIDATION OF THE QUESTIONNAIRE “THE PROCESS OF RETIREMENT PLANNING SCALE” BY J.H. NOON, C. STEVENS AND F.M. ALPASS T.V. Drobysheva, S.V. Tarasov, I.V. Larionov Experimental Psychology Russia, 2024
The paper presents the results of the initial adaptation and validation of the «The Process of Retirement Planning Scale» questionnaire, developed by a team of New Zealand scientists. Verification of the reliability and discriminativeness of the questionnaire subscales, gender differences and the model of retirement preparation were performed on a sample of 337 respondents (43 to 65 years old). Convergent validity was checked on a sample of 202 respondents (45 to 63 years old). Results showed that questionnaire has good psychometric measures and preserve 4-component model of retirement preparedness on a sample of Russian pre-retirees. Final version of questionnaire includes 35 items divided into 4 subscales and has a high degree of reliability-consistency: «Retirement representations» (Cronbach's alpha = 0,933), «Retirement goals» (Cronbach's alpha = 0.862), «The decision to prepare for retirement» (Cronbach's alpha = 0.855), «Preparing for retirement» (Cronbach's alpha = 0.854). «The Process of Retirement Planning Scale» is a reliable instrument measuring the stages of the process under study and can be used in psychological studies of pre-retirement planning.

Social-psychological satiety: Empirical study of a new phenomenon Tatiana Drobysheva, Ivan Larionov Behavioral Sciences, 2019 This article is devoted to the development of a new phenomenon in the field of social psychology of the city—satiety with living conditions in a metropolis. The study involved 87 people aged 18–30 years. The aim of the study was to identify and analyze the expression of the satiety of young Moscovites with living conditions in the metropolis, and its dependence on the sources of experience of this state. It was shown that satiety as a state of the human psyche performs the function of a protective mechanism from an overabundance of various stimuli from the surrounding world. The satiety with living conditions in the metropolis is a complex state that is caused by a variety of phenomena of social life in the urban environment: Excessive communication, an abundance of information, overpopulation, forced informatization of the urban environment, high rate of life, etc. It was found that satiety with living conditions in a metropolis has different forms of expression, such as emotional experiences and behavioral reactions. The article outlines perspectives for further research on the phenomenon of satiety in living conditions in a megacity in the direction of types, factors, and mechanisms of satiety.
