International Journal of Drug Delivery Technology, 2026
The reliability of gearboxes, particularly those with spur gear arrangements, is critical in various industrial applications, as they are subjected to varying load conditions that can lead to wear, failure, and costly downtime. This paper presents an experimental investigation and vibration-based condition analysis of a spur gear gearbox under varying load conditions. The primary objective is to assess the impact of different loading scenarios on the gearbox's vibration characteristics and develop strategies for early fault detection. Using advanced vibration analysis techniques such as Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), wavelet transform, and machine learning models, we analyze vibration signals collected from the gearbox under light, medium, and heavy load conditions. The results show that vibration patterns can be effectively used to identify gear faults and predict potential failures. By integrating machine learning-based predictive maintenance models, the study demonstrates how vibration data can be utilized to enhance the reliability and longevity of gearboxes. The findings provide valuable insights into vibration-based condition monitoring, offering a proactive approach to maintaining gearbox performance and reducing unplanned downtime in industrial environments. Keywords: vibration analysis, gearbox, spur gear arrangement, varying load conditions, condition monitoring, fault detection, Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), wavelet transform, machine learning, predictive maintenance, reliability, early failure prediction, industrial applications.

Automotive industries showed keen interest in the temperature control system of batteries. There exist varieties of commercial electric vehicles, which offer battery cooling technologies with active cooling systems as potential solutions. The creation of such cooling devices would need careful consideration of the physical structure and arrangement of the battery cells. However, in any case, it is fundamental need to have a battery temperature control mechanism for the safe operational working of all batteries. In the industry of automotive and conversion of electric vehicles, there exists a strong passion for Lithium-ion battery temperature control. There is already a considerable variety of commercial electric vehicles on the market, offering battery cooling technologies that rely on active-removal cooling systems as possible solutions. The development of such cooling systems will definitely demand that the battery pack’s physical architecture and structure be carefully re-examined. In the final analysis, it would clearly come out that in fact a battery temperature control will be necessary to have all batteries function in the ‘safety’ mode. The current study aims to review cooling strategies using air and thermal energy storage systems to improve the performance of electric and hybrid vehicles. The comparison of cooling capacity of the battery thermal management system (BTMS) with various designs is thoroughly examined. This review article tries to offer helpful guidance for designing the air-cooled and phase change material (PCM) cooled BTMS with optimal performance.

In the contemporary computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), tool vibrations must be controlled to ensure the accuracy and to increase the life of tools. This study is a system which functions on artificial intelligence (AI) and relies on geometrical information captured on computer-aided design (CAD) models to predict vibration behavior during CAM processes. By applying advanced feature recognition techniques, the technology identifies vital geometrical features such as wall-thickness aspects, hole patterns and radii on fillets which have significant effect on the vibration behaviour during machining. An artificial neural network (ANN) model based on the identification of these properties as inputs is trained to predict potential vibration levels in numerous machining scenarios. The predictive capabilities of the system in comparison to experimental data indicate that the system exhibits high accuracy when it comes to predicting vibration responses. This approach enhances the quality of surfaces, reduces equipment wear, and optimizes the productivity of production by allowing oppression of machine variants in advance before the start of machining. One of the novel approaches to smart and flexible manufacturing systems is the use of AI-driven vibration prediction in the CAM workflow.
  • Selection of Optimal Waste Cooking Soybean Oil Biodiesel Blends for Emission Reduction in CI Diesel Engines Under Variable Loads: A Combined Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)-Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) Analysis

International Journal of Automotive Science and Technology, 2024
Globalization has significantly heightened the demand for fossil fuels, resulting in a notable increase in ozone pollution levels. This heightened environmental awareness has spurred researchers to delve into the exploration of diverse renewable energy sources. In the course of extensive investigation, this study investigates the emission characteristics of a diesel engine fueled by waste-cooking Soybean oil biodiesel and diesel blends. A single-cylinder, four-stroke CI engine was utilized to experiment with various biodiesel blends, assessing major regulated pollutants at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% loads. Different Blends like B10WCO, B20WCO, B30WCO, B40WCO, B50WCO, and B0 Diesel Blends were prepared and ranked using an AHP-TOPSIS hybrid MCDM approach to determine the optimal fuel. AHP was employed to assess each criterion's importance, while TOPSIS ranked the alternatives. NOx emerged as the most significant criterion, with a 30% Waste Cooking Soybean oil biodiesel and 70% diesel blend identified as the best option at 75% and 100 % engine loads. Policymakers can use this integrated analysis technique to develop new business models aimed at reducing exhaust emissions and fossil fuel reliance. This research contributes to the study of renewable energy sources, particularly Waste cooking Soybean biodiesel blends, in automotive usage, providing insights for more efficient and environmentally balanced alternatives.

With the depletion of fossil fuels, the demands for fuel prices led by OPEC are increasing so possible fuel power for the current-day diesel engine is the need of today. Biodiesel is a significant alternative fuel; however, engine parameters need to be optimised on the basis of best performance and least exhaust discharges. In this work, experimentation was carried out fuelling blends of Xanthium strumarium L. seed oil biodiesel with diesel in volumetric proportions of 10%, 20% and 30% on a VCR diesel engine under engine fluctuations of engine’s volumetric ratio, fuel injection pressure and the start of fuel injection timing. Response surface methodology was employed and modelled output responses of the engine were quadratic and observed to be statistically fit with good confidence levels. Based on the RSM optimiser, the predictions made were marked as IT 24.57580bTDC, IP-180 bar, CR-16.5657 and blend levels 29.1919%v/v with a composite desirability score of 0.6824.

Abstract The current exploration of alternative fuels to conventional engines is tested on two fronts: the thermophysical property assessment and the other, real‐time evaluation using engine testing using the fuel. The engine testing fueled with modified oils/esterified blends does give real‐time analysis but at the cost of harmful emissions dumped into the polluted environment. The current work describes the use of possible simulations and the validity of simulation confirmed from real‐time experimentation at varying engine compression ratios (CRs). Engine parameters were kept the same for simulations that were performed on the Diesel RK module and experimental analysis. Neem oil blends were prepared and tested for the composition of FFA and later the required properties were supplemented to software for possible thermal performance and emission detections. The thermal efficiency deviation observed between RK model and experimental values for CR 18 for Diesel, B20, B40, and B100 was 5.8%, 1.9%, 3.4%, and 2.1%, respectively, and for NOx, the deviation observed for Diesel, B20, B40, and B100 was 8.9% and 13.7%, 12.2% and 14.1%, and 9.4% and 11.1%, respectively. The peak HRR and cylinder pressures observed for software simulations and real‐time experimental approaches did not vary much, but the peak values do differ by 6.7% and 4.7%, respectively.
