  • Machine Learning for Pulse Oximetry Refinement: Addressing Racial and Ethnic Disparities

2025 International Conference on Metaverse and Current Trends in Computing Icmctc 2025, 2025
The limits of pulse oximetry in precisely detecting oxygen saturation (SpO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf>), especially in varied racial and ethnic populations, are addressed in this study. Our objective was to improve the accuracy of oxygen saturation predictions and identify concealed hypoxemia by using machine learning models, such as Linear Regression, LightGBM, and Random Forest, using a sizable dataset from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. For model compatibility, 50,920 patients' data was preprocessed, normalized, and essential clinical and demographic characteristics were changed. With high R-squared values and low mean absolute errors, LightGBM and Random Forest demonstrated their superiority over Linear Regression in model evaluations, highlighting their capacity to represent non-linear connections in physiological data. Age, heart rate, blood pressure, and respiration rate were found to be significant predictors using interpretability methodologies like SHAP and LIME. Our findings imply that machine learning can increase the accuracy of SpO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> measurements and the detection of concealed hypoxemia, which may have consequences for fair patient monitoring and improved therapeutic outcomes.
  • Evaluating Welding Electrode Angle and Root Gap Effects on Joint Quality

    E3s Web of Conferences, 2024
Welding is a type of manufacturing method that offers greater advantages than riveting for combining metals or sheets. By adjusting the welding process parameters to predict welding strength, a higher quality of joint can be achieved. In this study, the weld processing parameters welding current (WC), electrode angle (EA), and root gap (RG) were taken into account. We performed destructive testing, such as tensile and hardness tests, to evaluate the metal piece's weld strength after it had been joined. Stainless steels and carbon steels, two unrelated materials, were used in this project. The Taguchi method was used to carry out joint processes in arc welding (AW), and nine samples were produced by altering the input parameters. Steel alloy 308L has been used as the electrode for forming connections.

3rd International Conference on Advances in Computing Communication and Materials Icaccm 2024, 2024
The research detailed in this paper describes a fraud detection system where autoencoders are employed in order to detect anomaly in financial transactions in real time manner. The results of experiment analysis in the system are, in the stage of detecting the query object, the detection accuracy of the system reaches 98%. 5%, precision of 92. 3%, recall of 90. accuracy of 95. 1%, a precision of 92. 8%, a recall of 100%, and an F1-score of 91. It must have had a definite impact, as attributable solely to the study, since its efficacy was proven in a real word with the improvement of patients’ health by 2%. Through analysing successive transactional data and learning the new modes of fraudulent activities, the system optimizes the number of both false positives and negatives for effective antifraud measures. The proposed approach can identify fraud in real time, which is critically important to maintaining financial fraud prevention efficiency.
  • Simulation of Hemoglobin and Oxyhemoglobin Dynamics Using a Robust Computational Technique
    R. Kasthuri
Communications on Applied Nonlinear Analysis, 2024
In this study a robust computational technique is used for a better understand of the dynamics of hemoglobin and oxyhemoglobin in human blood.[1] Results obtained using this technique helps to calculate SpO2 levels. The major goal of this research is to create a mathematical model that can explain how the concentrations of hemoglobin and oxyhemoglobin change over time. A graphical representation has been arrived with the solution of the proposed model using R-K method and MATLAB tool.
  • A fuzzy purchase model with backorders - GMI method of defuzzification
    R Kasthuri, P Vasanthi, S Ranganayaki, K Kavithamani
Journal of Physics Conference Series, 2022
A fuzzy EOQ model with backorders is considered in which the costs like setup, holding and the penalty price are assumed as triangular FN (fuzzy numbers). Graded mean integration approach which is more simple and accurate is employed to defuzzify the cost functions. The model is illustrated with numerical examples to compute the optimal values.
