  • Performance Evaluation of CubeSat Nanosatellite using LoRa in Low Earth Orbit
Badie Uddin, Lalu Delsi Samsumar, Puput Dani Prasetyo Adi, Henri Septanto, Petrus Dwi Ananto Pamungkas, Anik Hanifatul Azizah
Proceeding 2025 IEEE 11th Information Technology International Seminar Itis 2025, 2025
LoRa Communication Systems face significant challenges in maintaining Quality of Services (QoS) when LoRaWAN networks must use Nano Cube Satellites that have limited resources and operate in Low Earth Orbit (LEO). This is due to dynamic link conditions, the occurrence of Doppler effects, and also power limitations. This research conducts a specific evaluation of the Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) network operating robustly. And systematically this research analyzes the relationship between satellite elevation angles and measurements of Receive Signal Strength (RSSI) indicators, Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR), and Packet Error Rate (PER). And also combine the math model for Lik Budget calculation and Orbit propagation. The results of the simulation show RSSI values of $\mathbf{- 1 0 5 ~ d B m}$, SNR of $\mathbf{+ 8 ~ d B}$, and PER of $\mathbf{0. 5 \%}$. These represent critical reference points for reliable data transmission and reception. The findings also provide quantitative guidance for CubeSat constellation design as well as ground station planning that enables LoRa networks to work efficiently.
  • Improvement of Direct-Sequence Spread Spectrum for LPWAN Satellite Communication
Lalu Delsi Samsumar, Puput Dani Prasetyo Adi, Supardianto, Erfan Wahyudi, Zaenudin, Badie Uddin
Proceeding 2025 IEEE 11th Information Technology International Seminar Itis 2025, 2025
Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) satellite communication has an emergency feature that offers hope for future IoT communication systems,as it is certain to avoid problems and obstacles or barriers that occur, such as obstacles and limited distance in terrestrial-based LPWAN telecommunications. Resilience in the transmission process is determined by signal strength over a wide bandwidth, little interference that causes signal attenuation, and also allows communication using batteries and small transmission power,as well as superior security systems that can face the challenges of very long distances and also overcome high signal attenuation. As well as a communication system that can be effectively used in the process of transmitting data in active conditions, with a low signal-noise ratio (SNR) indicator and a Receive Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) that remains stable. So,using DSSS (Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum) in the future will have a significant impact on the attenuation of the signal that occurs. From the results of the method comparison,Processing Gain (dB) using Traditional DSSS is 21 dB,while using DSSS Improvement for LPWAN can increase to $\mathbf{2 1 ~ d B}$.
  • SGAP-Net: Saliency-Guided Attention with Vessel-Aligned Interpretability for Retinal Disease Diagnosis
Lalu Delsi Samsumar, Bahtiar Imran, Muhamad Masjun Efendi, Erfan Wahyudi, Hasan Basri, Mochamad Bagoes Satria Junianto, Supardianto Supardiantob, Ahmad Yani
Proceedings 7th International Conference on Informatics Multimedia Cyber and Information System Icimcis 2025, 2025
Early detection of ocular diseases is critical for preventing irreversible vision loss. We propose SGAP-Net, a lightweight deep learning model for classifying four retinal conditions, cataract, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and normal, from fundus images. Built on EfficientNet-B3, SGAP-Net incorporates a Saliency-Guided Attention Path (SGAP) module that enhances focus on diagnostically relevant regions with minimal computational overhead (1.02 G FLOPs, 10.62 M parameters). Key improvements over the original version include Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE), structure-preserving augmentations (e.g., Random Erasing, rotation), label smoothing, and class-balanced loss, collectively boosting accuracy to 88.15% and AUC-ROC to 97.33% on a stratified test set. While sensitivity for the normal class remains moderate (79.18%), indicating a tendency toward false positives, quantitative and visual analyses confirm that model attention consistently aligns with clinical biomarkers, particularly retinal vasculature and the optic disc. The system also enables automated cup-to-disc ratio (CDR) estimation. Ablation studies demonstrate that these gains stem from training refinements rather than architectural complexity. SGAP-Net thus offers a favorable trade-off between accuracy, efficiency, and interpretability, underscoring the value of careful preprocessing, augmentation, and loss design in resource-constrained retinal screening.
  • Combination of gray level co-occurrence matrix and artificial neural networks for classification of COVID-19 based on chest X-ray images
Bahtiar Imran, Lalu Delsi Samsumar, Ahmad Subki, Zaeniah Zaeniah, Salman Salman, Muhammad Rijal Alfian
Iaes International Journal of Artificial Intelligence, 2024
This research uses the gray level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) and artificial neural networks to classify COVID-19 images based on chest X-ray images. According to previous studies, there has never been a researcher who has integrated GLCM with artificial neural networks. Epochs 10, 30, 50, 70, 100, and 120 were used in this research. The total number of data points used in this investigation was 600, divided into 300 normal chests and 300 COVID-19 data points. Epoch 10 had 91% accuracy, epoch 30 had 91% accuracy, epoch 50 had 92% accuracy, epoch 70 had 91% accuracy, epoch 100 had 92% accuracy, and epoch 120 had 90% accuracy in categorization. As indicated by the results of the classification tests, combining GLCM and artificial neural networks can produce good results; a combination of these methods can yield a classification for COVID-19.
  • Performance Evaluation of LoRa 923 MHz for the Internet of Things
Angga Putra Juledi, Moh. Khoridatul Huda, Muhammad Taufik Dwi Putra, Lalu Delsi Samsumar, Puput Dani Prasetyo Adi, Yanuar Nurdiansyah
Proceeding IEEE 10th Information Technology International Seminar Itis 2024, 2024
This research focuses on enhancing the performance of data transmission in the Internet of Things (IoT) by leveraging LoRa technology. Specifically, it utilizes the LILYGO 923 MHz LoRa32 board, which integrates the ESP32 microcontroller with a LoRa module and additional devices like a 0.96-inch OLED display. This board also features a serial converter interface, simplifying the programming process, and uses a micro USB connection for both power and uploading code. One of the goals of this research is to enable the transmission of images using LoRa, though currently, only image conversion during transmission is implemented. The study includes reliability testing of the LoRa module over a distance of 10 km. The results show that the Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) for Spreading Factor (SF) 7 is 50%, while for SF 12, it improves to 85%. Additionally, the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) measurements at a distance of 1000 meters with 3 Non-Line-of-Sight (NLoS) conditions yielded values of -120 dBm, -90 dBm, and -78 dBm. These results highlight the potential of LoRa technology in improving IoT data transmission, especially for long-range applications.

Proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Computer and Communication Engineering Iccce 2023, 2023
Artificial intelligence, especially expert systems, has been widely applied in agriculture to detect pests and diseases that attack a plant. The Mayas rice plant is local in the East Kalimantan region, which has experienced a decline in production due to pest attacks. However, identifying Mayas rice pests is challenging because the symptoms are similar between one type of pest and another. This study used two methods, namely the Bayes Theorem and Dempster Shafer, to determine the highest level of accuracy and the appropriate method for diagnosing Mayas rice pests. The research data consisted of 32 symptoms and ten pests obtained from experts and 50 test data from expert diagnosis and both ways. Comparison testing using the confusion matrix. The results show that the accuracy value for the Bayes Theorem method is 74% and the Dempster Shafer method is 90%, based on the calculation of the confusion matrix. The accuracy value shows that the Dempster Shafer method has the highest accuracy value and is an appropriate method for diagnosing possible types of pests in Mayas rice.
